Make content about: Nic made English a place to belong

Nic knew school did not always feel safe, so they set out to make their English classroom a place where every pupil belonged.

This story

Nic loved literature and wanted to use books to help pupils see the world from different perspectives. As a trainee English teacher, Nic introduced open discussions on race, gender, and sexuality while teaching the novel Boys Don't Cry, making custom resources to address taboo topics and history around reclaimed language. Their work won recognition at the Queer Student Awards as pupils began challenging stereotypes and embracing inclusivity.
