Make content about: Monolisha returned to ocean research

Family life and loss paused Monolisha's scientific work. Now she is back in the laboratory on a major ocean research fellowship.

This story

Monolisha began her marine science career in India, where she studied coastal habitats and learned satellite remote sensing from a mentor, Trevor. When Trevor died in 2020 and she took time out for childcare during the pandemic, her doctoral research was put on hold. She later returned to marine fieldwork and became the first woman awarded a fellowship at Plymouth Marine Laboratory.
