Make content about: Meike takes on fitness challenges
After losing her baby daughter at 22 weeks, Meike took on solo fitness challenges to fund research into pregnancy complications.
This story
At 22 weeks pregnant, Meike discovered she was leaking amniotic fluid and went into labour, giving birth to her daughter Mary-Rose, who died. After surgery for placenta complications and a diagnosis of Asherman's syndrome, she turned to fitness racing to process her grief and raise awareness. Having raised nearly £6,000 in a solo fitness event in May, she continues to campaign for research into pregnancy complications.
