In May 2021, Maxine's family lost her twenty-year-old daughter Jess to anaphylaxis. She began fundraising for Natasha's Foundation to support research aimed at eradicating food allergies and preventing further deaths. As an ambassador for the foundation, she continues to raise awareness and funds in memory of Jess.
