In 2019, Marius's close friend Carl was diagnosed with a rare liver disease that forced him to leave work and wait for an organ donor. After two false alarms, Carl received a transplant in March 2026 and returned home to rebuild his strength. Marius is now taking on the 2027 London Marathon to raise funds for liver disease research.
