Make content about: Lucy turned to writing poetry
After her son was born at 31 weeks, Lucy turned to writing poetry to process the shock of neonatal care.
This story
Lucy's son arrived at 31 weeks after months of frequent monitoring, followed by five weeks in neonatal care. More than a year after coming home, her son remains medically complex and tube-fed, with medical equipment and appointments a regular part of daily life. To help process her feelings, Lucy began writing poetry about the objects and moments that held her grief, and has now written more than 50 poems.
