Make content about: Kelsey completed a marathon
Chronic illness left Kelsey using a wheelchair. Partnered with an assistance dog named Hamble, she regained her mobility and completed a marathon.
This story
After moving to the UK to study music, Kelsey was diagnosed with myalgic encephalomyelitis and fibromyalgia, losing her mobility and becoming a full-time wheelchair user. In 2019, she was matched with a Labrador assistance dog named Hamble, who helped with daily tasks like retrieving dropped items and opening doors. With Hamble by her side, Kelsey took up paraclimbing, stopped using crutches in 2023, and went on to complete the Manchester Marathon.
