This story
Karl worked as a chef and cared for his wife while helping raise their two children, but severe mental health struggles and mounting pressure took a toll. After his marriage ended, he left the family home and spent a month sleeping on a friend's sofa. Moving into Emmaus provided a room of his own, work in the shop and on vans, and time to rebuild his life.
