Karen doubted she was good enough to report, but learning to make videos gave her a voice to challenge homelessness.

Frustrated by difficulties getting through to doctors during lockdown in 2020, Karen started making audio recordings for Groundswell. In 2022, she joined the Listen Up project as a community reporter covering homelessness and health inequalities. After teaching herself how to use video equipment, Karen began interviewing others in recovery and confronting experiences from her own past.
