Make content about: Jude formed a punk band for older women
After suffering a stroke, Jude founded a punk music collective to tackle creative isolation among women over 50.
This story
Cardiff musician and community worker Jude had long wanted to create opportunities for older people to make music. Following a stroke in 2023, her own recovery highlighted the isolation many older women experience, prompting her to launch the Nana Punk project. The initiative held dozens of workshops that brought 17 women together to learn instruments, leading to the formation of a ten-member band that writes original songs and plays live gigs.
