Make content about: Joe is playing music with his son
Dementia left Joe isolated and frustrated, until music therapy gave him and his son a joyful way to connect.
This story
Before his dementia diagnosis, Joe was sociable and loved joking with friends, but conversations eventually became confusing and frustrating, leaving him rarely leaving his care home room. Music therapist David began weekly visits with a ukulele, and Joe lit up playing the tambourine and singing along. The sessions transformed Joe's mood and inspired his son Ivan to bring a guitar along on visits so they could connect through music.
