Joe struggled to connect with support staff and felt isolated by anxiety whenever he tried to go out alone. Starting in 2011, he worked with support staff to practice emergency strategies and established a local cafe as a safe hub if he felt distressed. Now, he heads out independently, and local shop staff know to contact his support team if he ever needs help.
