Joanne became suddenly ill in 1998 with severe weight loss following long work hours and a holiday abroad. After months of hospital visits and tests, she was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis and Proctitis. She adapted to a hidden disability and daily medication, and now raises money for research through coffee mornings and a gift in her will.
