Make content about: Jo returned to watercolours

Living with advanced cancer, Jo found comfort and distraction in hospice creative therapy sessions and painting at home.

This story

In February 2023, Jo was diagnosed with cancer, which later spread to her lungs and bones. After touring the hospice with her family to familiarise them with end of life care, she was encouraged to join the support hub. She has since attended support courses and creative therapy workshops, returning to watercolours and patchwork to help navigate the stress of her illness.

Where you could take it

Sit down with Jo at home to see her watercolours and patchwork and talk about how making art helps her cope.
