In 2019, Jamie lost his home while struggling with addiction, before receiving support to secure a place of his own. He began volunteering as a peer mentor to stay busy and find a sense of purpose. He now supports people at accommodation services across Stoke-on-Trent and was recently named Volunteer of the Year.
