Make content about: Hannah's heart is helping science
Hannah missed a reunion concert to undergo an urgent transplant. Today, her original heart is helping scientists seek a cure.
This story
Hannah developed heart failure caused by dilated cardiomyopathy, thought to have been triggered by a virus. At 28, she became the youngest patient on her ward when she underwent a heart transplant on May 24, 2019. Following her recovery, she donated her diseased heart to medical research and welcomed her miniature dachshund, Huey.
