Make content about: Gary walks his dog alone again

Gary spent decades afraid to leave the house alone. Now at 67, he walks his dog and joins outdoor groups.

This story

Gary was diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in his late twenties, and over time he stopped leaving the house alone because he feared having an attack. Through a local support group in the Leamington area, he signed up for a hospice programme focused on fatigue and breathlessness. The daily exercises and pacing techniques helped him take back control, and he now walks his dog alone and attends a weekly nature group.
