In April 2024, Erica was diagnosed with treatable breast cancer. Over the next two years, she went through surgeries, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and medications with challenging side effects. With her drug treatment coming to an end, she and her friend Lou are preparing to race from Rome to Lisbon in four days.
