After eight years living in fear as an undocumented migrant, Elizabeth now shares her family recipes as a cookery teacher in London.

This story

Elizabeth moved from Nigeria to the UK to live with her family, but spent eight years as an undocumented migrant unable to work and fearing deportation. After losing confidence and feeling hopeless, she found the cooking charity Migrateful and began volunteering. Now legally permitted to remain, she works for the charity managing chefs and teaching traditional Nigerian dishes like efo riro and asaro.
