Make content about: Doris knitted for her local hospice

For years, Doris knitted hundreds of fundraising chicks for her local hospice. Now she is being cared for on its ward.

This story

Doris spent years volunteering on reception and sewing hundreds of knitted chicks to raise money for the hospice. After being diagnosed with anaemia and having a blood transfusion, ongoing health issues led to her admission to the inpatient unit. She is now receiving personalised support through the hospice's frailty service until she is well enough to move into a care home.

Where you could take it

Visit Doris on the ward to talk through her years of chick making and what it feels like to receive care from the hospice she supported.
