Make content about: Debbie directs her own care team

Debbie continued her career for years after a multiple sclerosis diagnosis. Now in her sixties, she directs her own care team.

This story

Debbie was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in her twenties after being hit by a car, later working in banking and volunteering. She and her partner Tony supported each other through their neurological conditions until Tony passed away in 2022. Now in her sixties and using a wheelchair full-time, Debbie employs six carers who assist her for twelve hours a day.

Where you could take it

Spend a morning with Debbie to see how she coordinates her care team and gets out into the community.
