After a car crash destroyed Chris's right eye, complex surgery helped him rebuild his sight and return to sport.
This story
While on a trip in Budapest, Chris survived a violent car crash that broke his neck and left catastrophic damage to his right eye. After emergency care in Hungary, he returned to the UK where a surgeon rebuilt the eye piece by piece using an artificial iris and replacement retina. Having undergone around eight operations, Chris has regained spatial awareness and returned to driving, football and tennis.
