Make content about: Carla is replacing Alfred's potato
Carla is marking Potato Day in memory of Alfred, replacing a squished potato that brought him joy during cancer treatment.
This story
While undergoing hospital cancer treatment, Alfred found a potato in the grass and checked on it every day he could go outside. Even after the potato was squished, likely by a lawnmower, he kept visiting it, and they decided they would replace it if needed. Alfred has since died. Carla is now returning on 21 November 2026 to replace the potato, eat his favourite lunch, and invite people everywhere to join Potato Day in his memory.
Where you could take it
Join Carla on Potato Day to leave a replacement potato outside the hospital and share a lunch remembering Alfred.
