Make content about: Carey teamed up with her artist son
Years after an air ambulance flew Carey to hospital, she teamed up with her artist son to help fund a new helicopter.
This story
In 2004, an air ambulance flew Carey to hospital in minutes during a difficult emergency in an isolated rural area. With the service now needing to replace its ageing helicopters, she wanted to help fund a replacement. She partnered with her son Leo, an author and illustrator, to organise a prize draw offering a custom piece of artwork.
