In September 2024, Christine was diagnosed with two complicated types of cancer and began receiving treatment at a hospital in Sheffield. Christine and Bob had been grandparent figures to Bronte since she was born. To support Christine during her treatment, Bronte set out to run a 100-mile ultra race.
