Make content about: Ben is training for church ministry
Ben left retail to train for church ministry in Plymouth, balancing study and night-shelter shifts while navigating neurodiversity.
This story
Originally from Sheffield, Ben worked in retail before taking a church mission role across struggling parishes. He moved into training in Plymouth to become a distinctive deacon, combining his studies with overnight shifts at a local night shelter. Coping with autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia and hearing troubles, he used a grant for specialist headphones and tablets to support his learning.
