Make content about: Anya became a teaching assistant
Anya spent her teenage years sofa surfing to survive. Today she is a teaching assistant living with her partner.
This story
Anya grew up in rural North Wales, learning to cook and survive at eight or nine because her father was unable to care for her. By fourteen she was homeless and sofa surfing, until a Welsh youth homelessness charity offered her a flat shortly after her sixteenth birthday. With temporary accommodation and support, she finished school, supported herself, and volunteered to help others. She now works as a teaching assistant and lives with her partner and two cats.
