After supporting Ukrainian arrivals through church coffee mornings, Anne-Marie and Howard offered their spare bedrooms to host. Their first guest, Sofia, stayed for a year and a half, and when their second guest, Hanna, arrived, Sofia needed to return, so they welcomed both women together. The household managed language barriers using translation apps, and Hanna found local hotel work alongside Sofia.
