Make content about: Amir is training as an electrician
After arriving alone in Leicester, Amir rebuilt his independence through training and volunteering, and is now looking for paid work.
This story
Amir fled his home country and had to leave his family behind, arriving alone in Leicester where he briefly sofa surfed before reaching out to Action Homeless. The charity provided key worker support for his housing and mental health, eventually moving him into independent accommodation. Amir went on to complete an English language course, began training as an electrician, and started volunteering in a charity shop testing donated equipment.
