Make content about: Alessandra gave back to hospice care

After her husband Geraint died, Alessandra spent over a decade backing hospice care, funding round-the-clock support and a memorial garden.

This story

After her husband Geraint died at Princess Alice Hospice in 2013, Alessandra began volunteering, baking and raising funds in his memory. Over the following decade, she donated proceeds from selling his sailing boat, gave monthly, and contributed to a tribute fund that raised over £75,000. In 2024, she made a major gift to fund a 24-hour advice and care service alongside a new seating space called Geraint’s Garden. In October 2025, she visited the finished garden with family, friends and her rescue dog Georgina.
